For players who don't know, Dead Rails recently added a brand new class system that allows players to start their journey with certain items and abilities.

But, as you may already know, not every class is the same and some are more useful compared to others.

Moreover, based on whether you are playing Dead Rails solo or multiplayer, certain classes perform better.

So with that said, here's our ultimate tier list for classes in Dead Rails.

All Classes In Dead Rails

At the time of writing this guide, Dead Rails has 12 classes, each with a different spawn item and ability.

These are:

Doctor

The Doctor class spawns with the following items:

• Shovel x1
• Bandage x2
• Snake Oil x2

Moreover, the class ability allows them to revive a fallen teammate by sacrificing half of their own HP.

Miner

The Miner spawns with the following items:

• Mining Helmet x1
• Coal x2
• Pickaxe x1

The Mining Helmet of the Miner class always provides light, allowing you to explore dark areas with ease.

Arsonist

The Arsonist class spawns with the following items:

• Shovel x1
• Molotov x4

The class ability of the Arsonist allows you to deal double fire damage.

The Alamo

The Alamo class in Dead Rails spawns with the following items:

• Helmet x1
• Metal Sheet x3
• Barbed Wire x3
• Shovel x1

This class specializes in defense and works really well when it comes to defending the train from different monsters.

Cowboy

The Cowboy class in the game spawns with the following items:

• Revolver Ammo x2
• Saddle x1
• Shovel x1
• Revolver x1

The class is best for vanguards as it comes with a tamed horse and a powerful weapon.

Conductor

The Conductor is a support class that spawns with the following items:

• Coal x2

This is a pure support class as not only does it have half the HP or any regular class, but it also doesn't come with any ranged or melee weapon.

But on the bright side, the Conductor can drive the train at a faster speed, allowing you to cover more distance in less time.

High Roller

The High Roller class spawns with the following items:

• Shovel x1

When it comes to class ability, the High Roller class can collect 1.5x more Moneybags compared to any other class with the only cons being an increased chance of getting struck by lightning.

Priest

The Priest class spawns with the following items:

• Crucifix x2
• Holy Water x2
• Shovel x1

That said, when it comes to the class ability, the Priest class is immune to lightning strikes.

Vampire

The Vampire is one of my favorite classes in the game that spawns with the following items:

• Vampire Knife x1
• Shovel x1

When it comes to the class ability, the Vampire class comes with increased movement speed and melee damage.

The cons are taking damage when you are in direct sunlight.

Survivalist

The Survivalist class in the game spawns with the following items:

• Shovel x1
• Tomahawk x1

It is a glass canon class that deals more damage the lower the health.

Zombie

The Zombie class in Dead Rails spawns with the following items:

• Shovel x1

It is the perfect stealth class in the game thanks to the class ability that lessens the detection by enemies.

Moreover, when you use the Zombie class, you can also eat dead bodies to replenish your health.

The downside?

Well! The Zombie class cannot use healing items like Bandages or Snake Oil.

Ironclad

The Ironclad class spawns with the following items:

• Helmet x1
• Chestplate x1
• Left Shoulder Armor x1
• Right Shoulder Armor x1
• Shovel x1

It is the ultimate tank class in the game that comes with exceptional defense in exchange for a 20% debuff to movement speed.

What Is The Best Class In Dead Rails

If you are playing solo, the Arsonist, Priest, Cowboy, and Zombie are the best classes in Dead Rails that you should go with.

On the other hand, if you are playing multiplayer, having a team with a Doctor as the Healer, an Ironclad as the Tank, The Arsonist or Survivalist as the DPS, and The Alamo as the last line of defense is the best selection.
